Why we rate it
A set chosen by our salon team for medium to thick hair that knots easily: Shampoo One and The Detangler. Shampoo One is a gentle, rich-lathering daily shampoo and one of Paul Mitchell's originals. The Detangler is a super-rich rinse-out conditioner that releases knots straight away, adds shine and has a low pH that helps seal the cuticle. Both are colour-safe. If your hair is fine, The Conditioner, a lighter leave-in, will suit you better; you'll find it in the Original Duo.

- Massage into wet hair.
- Rinse; repeat if needed.
- Follow with The Detangler or The Conditioner.
The Detangler
- After shampooing, apply a small amount to clean, damp hair.
- Comb through to release knots.
- Rinse and style.
